Satiar created the role of Simon Cross in the world premier of THE SPY WHO WENT INTO REHAB, mainly for the opportunity to wear a white dinner jacket and is proud to bring him to Edinburgh. Cyndy Fujikawa - Z/Stella/Director/Producer
Cyndy Fujikawa is a director, performer, producer and Hollywood beancounter. She is delighted to make her Edinburgh Fringe debut alongside her old college pal and fellow troublemaker, Mike McShane. She's doubly delighted to reunite with playwright Gregg Ostrin, who she fondly remembers from her highschool thespian club and Mr. Lomeli's production of Damn Yankees, where Gregg played the devil. Shout out to our producer Chris Buckley who first presented Cyndy's one person show Old Man River, Off Broadway, many years ago. For Cyndy, this production has been a tribute to great friends and collaborators, including fellow company members Claire, Satiar, Rachel & Nell, each of who helped develop this production and bring it to you today.
Mike McShane - Gary/Lazarus Rex
MIKE MCSHANE is an Emmy nominated, Cable Ace Award winning actor and improvisor. His credits are respectable; his debits however are not. There will be no tariffs in this production, only the taxing of your imagination and patience.Thank you for coming to our show, and spread the word.DR LAZARUS REX, was conceived in a secret laboratory nestled within an underground bunker in Bolivia. They were good times . He received his first dueling scar at eight years old, from the legendary fencing master Klaus “The Red Dog” Babani, which he will show you before he kills you. He is completely bent. On world domination, that is.
Nell Murphy - Pixie
Currently a student at Carnegie Mellon University, Nell just appeared in her first feature film, Freakier Friday, starring Jamie Lee Curtis and Lindsay Lohan. She is thrilled to be making her first appearance at The Fringe and she hopes to find out exactly what the deal is with Haggas and Billy Connolly.
Rachel Townsend - Yvonne
Dancer, actor, choreographer and movement teacher, Rachel appeared as Consuelo in Unfinished Women Cry in No-Man's Land While a Bird Dies in a Gilded Cage directed by Shirley Jo Finney, Julia in Wedding Band, directed by Debbie Allen. At PRT Rachel played Betsy in The Pact and understudied Cynthia in Stalled. Film roles include Rebecca Duo The Last Decision of President and Mrs. Brown in Puzzled in addition to numerous television commercials as both on-camera and voiceover talent.
Gregg Ostrin - Playwright/Producer
Gregg Ostrin (Playwright) - After a successful career as a combination banquet waiter-hired assassin, Gregg had a brief career as a Stephen Fry impersonator before turning to writing. He is thrilled to see The Spy Who Went Into Rehab make it from Los Angeles to Edinburgh. His other plays include Kowalski (Duke Theater, New York City), A Very Streaming Christmas (Pacific Resident Theatre, Venice CA), The Soul of Motown (StageWest, Calgary), Truffles (Secret Door Theater, New York City), Rank and File (Hudson Theater, Los Angeles). He wants to thank the people of Scotland for their hospitality, as well as for the Kilt, the bagpipe, the Loch Ness Monster and Sean Connery.
Chris Buckley - Producer
After nearly 50 years in Theater, Mr. Buckley is hanging up his laminated pass and retiring. With this first foray into the Fringe world, he plans to lose much of the money he made in those first 50 years. Prior to his much-needed retirement, he:Spent 4 years based in Brussels working with the Rosas Dance Co.; during that time, he witnessed at least 8 precipitation-free days.Spent one season at Wexford Opera in Ireland (no precipitation-free days).Spent 4 years at BAM, NY where the cutting edge becomes passe.Spent 7 years the New42nd Street, NY helping to transform porn theaters into a tourist mecca. Lastly 20+ years as a theatrical consultant, all the time accumulating those internationally recognized badges of a Production Manager, cardiac stents.
